The Opportunity:

Komatsu is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Maintenance Supervisors, Leading Hands and senior tradespeople ready for their next leadership challenge within a major heavy-equipment operation in Central Queensland.

This is a hands-on frontline leadership role where you'll work alongside and provide direction to a team of Komatsu technicians and subcontractors. You'll be the link between the customer, the maintenance team and Komatsu, making sure work is planned, allocated and completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your day could include

This role is about more than allocating jobs. You'll be responsible for creating an environment where your crew can perform at their best.

You'll:

- Lead, support and provide day-to-day direction to a team of skilled technicians.

- Coordinate and allocate daily maintenance activities.

- Make sure technicians have the right job packs, technical information and resources before work starts.

- Maintain strong safety standards, including risk assessments, audits and site compliance.

- Work closely with the customer, providing updates, managing expectations and resolving issues.

- Review shift logs, service reports and maintenance documentation.

- Support planning and preparation of maintenance activities.

- Supervise subcontractors where required.

- Ensure completed work meets the required technical and quality standards.

- Identify risks, opportunities and improvements that can strengthen equipment and maintenance performance.

We're keen to hear from people with:

- We're looking for someone who knows heavy equipment, understands the realities of maintenance and can get the best out of a crew.

- You'll be comfortable being visible in the field, talking with technicians, challenging unsafe practices, solving problems and having straightforward conversations with the customer.

- Ideally, you'll bring a Mechanical and/or HV Electrical trade qualification, along with previous supervisory experience or the capability and qualifications to step into a site supervisory position.

- Experience working with large mining excavators, electric-drive haul trucks and graders would be particularly valuable. Komatsu equipment knowledge is highly regarded.

- You'll also need strong communication skills, a genuine commitment to safety and the ability to build a positive, accountable team culture.

- Relevant site competencies including S11, S1/S2/S3 and G2, or the ability to obtain them, will be required, along with the ability to successfully complete the required Coal Board Medical.
