The Opportunity:

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Rebuild Technicians – Mechanical to join our team from mid-January to early February 2027.

There will be multiple positions available, with various roster options expected to be available.

Working in our Mt Thorley Branch located in the Hunter Valley , you will be involved in the complete rebuild process, from disassembly and inspection through to repair, overhaul, assembly, and commissioning.

You will work as part of a rebuild team delivering equipment to a high standard of safety, quality and reliability.

This is a permanent opportunity to join Komatsu and be part of a major piece of work in the Hunter Valley.

Key Responsibilities

- Disassemble, inspect, assess, overhaul and reassemble heavy mobile equipment and major components

- Complete equipment and component rebuild to OEM specifications and documented work instructions

- Conduct diagnostics, fault finding and repairs

- Identify defects, wear and potential reliability issues through inspection

- Interpret technical documentation, service manuals, engineering information and rebuild scopes

- Complete testing, commissioning and operational checks following rebuild activities

- Accurately record work completed, parts used and job progress

- Work collaboratively with other technicians to meet project schedules and quality requirements

- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment

Roster: Various roster options available
Role Located: Mt Thorley Branch, NSW
The role may involve both workshop and mine site work to support rebuild activities.

What we are looking for:

- A relevant trade qualification such as Heavy Vehicle, Mobile Plant, Diesel Fitter or equivalent

- At least one year of post-trade experience in heavy equipment maintenance, repair or overhaul

- Experience working with heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment or major components

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

- The ability to read and interpret technical documentation
