Your Role:
As a Team Manager of General Ledger team, you will be handling the below responsibilities:
- Strategic leadership support : ~10% of your time.
- Able to envision future of the GL team members for next 3 years, skills/competencies needed, Workforce Upskilling requirements
- Adopting "AI” + “Hyper automation" as the way forward: Standard & replicable AI agents for PE closes doing sanity checks, identify outliers, one-offs, Trend analysis, analytics for accounting managers, insights on blind spots
- Measure penetration & Identify, Plan, suggest & Handle transition projects related to scope increase.
- Tactical management : 40% of your time
- Stakeholder management:
- Regular engagement with stakeholders on a periodic basis.
- Ability to translate stakeholder’s expectations & needs, concerns, Issues into action plans and implement it on the floor.
- Handling escalations & take it to closure within reasonable period.
- Team Management: for the overall team (Directs + Team members)
- End to end People management scope right from ‘Hire’ to ‘Retire’ - Oversee the Process onboarding, change management, Engagement, Setting annual goals & objectives, Feedback, Career discussions, motivation, Rewards & recognition, Workload management, transformation projects (‘Fix’ after lift & shift).
- Transform the ‘Operating’ culture in line with internal culture programs.
- Upskill team to next level of challenges & opportunities within Finance through various programs/ curriculums.
- Knowledge management:
- Devise & operate a model to preserve ‘What’ & ‘why’ part of the service scope and not only ‘How’
- Devise & operationalize mechanisms to preserve, retain & upgrade knowledge bank
- Ensuring business continuity by owning backup arrangement, Cross-training, Process documentation, Training videos.
- Operations / Process management:
- Accountable for service scope – Period end closes, Balance sheet account reconciliation, Group a/c queries, supporting statutory & tax audit, achieving Targets in process KPIs (accurate books & On-time submission of books, clean books of accounts, ‘Zero’ audit/Internal control failures,
- Process transformation – Living a ‘LEAN’ life to achieve process excellence - Identify Initiatives, enable/facilitate brain-storming sessions, bring out ideas for implementation, Business cases for any additional investment and cascading productivity Savings, YoY cost control.
- Co-ordinate, problem solve, resolve, fix process gaps, knowledge gaps by collaborating with various teams laterally, vertically and cross functional.
- Able to understand & adopt industry best practices and implementing it.
Who You Are:
To be successful in this role, you need to be:
CPA/CMA with 15+ years of relevant experience – General accounting in a MNC environment working hands on in ERP (mainly SAP). Project management certifications / Experience would be preferred.
