About this role

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled System Engineer to join our Watch Desk team!

Specifically, we are looking for two (2) Watch Desk Engineers to monitor and maintain mission systems around the clock.

The Work:

- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines

- Investigate alerts and incidents and perform authorized recovery actions

- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate teams

- Maintain tickets, shift logs, SOPs, metrics, and reports

- Provide concise status updates and effective shift handoffs

Qualifications:

- Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

- Bachelors degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university

Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree

Required:

- Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within six months)

- Linux and command-line proficiency

- Hardware, software, network, and data-flow troubleshooting

- Clear written and verbal communication and documentation skills

- Ability to follow and maintain SOPs, prioritize incidents, and work independently in a 247 environment

- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Redis, NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualization

- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus

- Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts

- Ability to work rotating 12-hour day or night shifts on a two-week schedule (Central time zone)

Desired:

- AWS knowledge/experience

- Experience developing systems engineering documentation (SEPs, requirements specifications, ICDs)

- Familiarity with DoDAF and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

- Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Integrated Product Team experience
