Territory Sales Manager
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus incentive compensation
Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Territory Sales Manager to drive sales growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships throughout the assigned territory. This role is responsible for managing dealer and distributor relationships, developing new business opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers through sales support, product expertise, training, and strategic business guidance.
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for selling Milgard products to the assigned dealer base while also influencing demand indirectly through architects, contractors, builders, and homeowners. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated sales professional who thrives on building partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with existing dealer and distributor accounts.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen partnerships and drive sales growth.
- Promote sales growth and business opportunities for all Milgard customers.
- Responsible for selling Milgard products to the assigned dealer base.
- Generate demand indirectly through architects, contractors, builders, and homeowners.
- Work with dealers throughout the territory to recommend and implement Milgard product solutions.
- Train dealer sales associates and account personnel on product features, benefits, systems, and selling strategies.
- Conduct product knowledge training and participate in joint customer visits when necessary.
- Provide product expertise and business guidance to dealers, builders, architects, and other channel partners.
- Provide business counsel and marketing advice to dealer partners.
- Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, and market share.
- Provide sales and service support to homeowners in collaboration with Milgard dealers.
- Promote Milgard products through trade shows, home shows, customer events, industry-specific events, and other marketing channels.
- Manage expense accounts for literature, promotional materials, wearables, communications, travel, and entertainment within approved budgets.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to sales leadership regarding market opportunities.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate product knowledge and communicate product updates and solutions to customers.
- Support inventory management, stock integrity, and return negotiations as needed.
- Support the order fulfillment process through close collaboration with inside sales representatives, production personnel, customer service, credit, and delivery teams.
- Participate in developing sales strategies, forecasts, and targets for assigned territories.
- Reflect Milgard business values and philosophy in all business interactions.
- Maintain accurate customer records, account activity, and territory reporting.
- Travel throughout the territory as required to support customers and business objectives.

- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Strong consultative sales and territory management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to influence decision-makers and deliver strategic sales solutions.
- Strong understanding of dealer distribution and channel sales environments.
- Ability to prioritize multiple customer accounts and business initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience conducting customer training, product demonstrations, and presentations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and growth strategies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and sales reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in territory sales, outside sales, account management, business development, or related sales roles.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and growing customer relationships.
- Experience in training customers or conducting product presentations preferred.
- Experience within building materials, windows and doors, millwork, construction products, or related industries preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
Job Specific Requirements
- Territory-based travel is required to support customer relationships and business growth initiatives.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to lift and transport product samples, marketing materials, and presentation equipment as needed.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet company driving requirements.
