Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs a wide range of skilled, non-repetitive electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations on components or subassemblies. Uses schematics or blueprints, wiring lists, and verbal and written instructions to assemble units. Assignments are complex and personal judgment may be used to resolve problems. Completes assignment with limited instructions.

Essential Functions:
 Build, wire, assemble, and test electrical systems for capital equipment and automated machinery.
 Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and engineering drawings.
 Install and terminate electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, contactors, power supplies, terminal blocks, sensors, motors, and control devices.
 Perform point-to-point wiring and verify wiring against electrical drawings and specifications.
 Assemble and wire control panels, junction boxes, machine enclosures, and electrical cabinets.
 Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues during equipment assembly, testing, and commissioning.
 Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults.
 Support machine startup, functional testing, and final acceptance testing.
 Assist engineers with electrical system testing, design verification, and equipment modifications.
 Identify wiring errors, component issues, and design-related problems and communicate findings to Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
 Make electrical modifications and rework as directed by engineering documentation and approved procedures.
 Maintain accurate documentation, test records, wiring changes, and equipment build information.
 Follow established safety procedures, electrical codes, quality requirements, and company work instructions.
 Support continuous improvement activities related to equipment reliability, assembly efficiency, safety, and quality.
 Assist with equipment installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.
 Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Support special projects or temporary assignments as needed

Required Qualifications:
 High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electronics, Automation, or a related field is preferred.
 2+ years of hands-on electrical technician experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, machine building, or capital equipment.
 Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
 Experience with electrical panel wiring, machine wiring, and electrical component installation.
 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
 Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, AC/DC power, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
 Ability to safely use electrical hand tools and test equipment.
 Ability to work independently as well as effectively with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
 Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:
 Five (5) or more years of experience as a technician
 Prototyping experience in a production environment
 Associate degree in electronics, industrial, or electrical studies
 Excellent troubleshooting ability
 Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical CAD drawings

Physical Requirements
 Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work around machinery for extended periods.
 Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
 Ability to lift and move electrical components and materials as required.
 Ability to work in and around equipment, electrical cabinets, and machinery.
 Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while following all required PPE and safety procedures.

Work Environment
This position is primarily based in a manufacturing environment and involves hands-on work with electrical systems, automated machinery, control panels, and capital equipment. The position may occasionally require overtime, extended hours during equipment testing, and domestic or international travel for equipment installation and commissioning.

Employment Classification & Compensation:
This position is classified as non‑exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with California law. This role is subject to applicable wage and hour requirements, including meal and rest periods.
