Spares Technician, Castings

We are seeking a Spares Technician to provide high-priority support to Maintenance Supervisors and the Maintenance Planner. The core focus of this role is spare parts/inventory management, planner support, supervisor support (including pass down and documentation), preventive/predictive maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and shop operations. The technician will also oversee hazardous waste management for castings department, with primary focus on integrity in castings areas to prevent and control spills, coordinate immediate response with the EHS/hazardous waste team if spills occur, ensure hazardous waste is handled correctly and on the required locations, organize with EHS Hazardous Waste team for compliance with regulations and waste pickup. This position drives equipment uptime, parts availability, cost savings, 5S, and continuous improvement while ensuring environmental compliance related to containment.

Manage organized, labeled inventory of parts and tools (FLUX preferred), including lineside spares, min/max levels, ordering, cycle counts, cost control, kitting/staging, critical spares monitoring, warehouse follow-ups, and analysis of costs/failures versus expected life Partner with the Maintenance Planner on parts availability, work orders, scheduling, PM/project follow-up, BOMs, documentation, and 4D countermeasures Provide real-time Supervisor support, maintain daily pass downs on limiters, and keep the CMMS fully updated with PMs, PdM, downtime, notes, and records Perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on shop equipment while loading/unloading materials with material handling equipment as needed Conduct Castings housekeeping and twice-daily inspections (DCM1, DCM2, Tool & Die) for coolant, debris, and rainwater, keeping sumps, secondary containments, drip pans, and berms clear and EHS-ready Manage hazardous waste segregation, labeled containers, bin changes, pickups, spill kits, and immediate spill response (including Security/EHS contact, cleanup, forklift moves, and vendor collaboration) Maintain a clean, 5S-compliant shop while driving cost-savings, process improvements, and continuous gains in reliability, efficiency, safety, and quality

Technical certificate, trade school, or Associate's Degree in industrial Maintenance/Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent experience 2+ years in industrial maintenance, spare parts/inventory control, or planner/supervisor support in manufacturing (castings, automotive, or high-volume preferred); experience in castings, foundry, or heavy manufacturing a plus Ability to safely perform mechanical repairs, basic electrical work, inspections, and rebuilds, plus knowledge of (or willingness to learn) secondary containment, spill prevention, EHS, and maintenance standards (HAZWOPER a plus; training provided) Strong organization, attention to detail, multi-priority management, communication, and collaboration skills, with proven planner/supervisor support and experience in 5S, continuous improvement, BOMs, and cost reduction Flexibility for on-call, weekends, or off-shifts; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment (PPE required); forklift/material handling certification preferred or ability to obtain Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal Essential Physical Demands

- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Potential exposure to confined spaces, elevated heat and hazardous materials
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, hearing protection and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

Expected Compensation $28.75 - $42.73/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
