About this role

Job Purpose :

To assist in managing terminal operations, processes, maintenance program and execute capital Investment projects in the Terminal to achieve best in class performance according to VE HSSEQ & country regulations. Support Terminal manager, manage the day-to-day activities of the terminal and optimize Terminal performance to achieve set KPI’s, and manage and offer technical support to Marine, Lubricants and Commercial Projects and staff.

Key Accountabilities:

- To deliver maintenance program according to VE Engineering Maintenance Guide and execute capital Investment projects in the Terminal end-to-end to strict deadlines, according to Vivo Energy standards, within approved budget and agreed timelines.
- Support & lead day-to-day activities and optimize Terminal performance to achieve set KPI’s.
- Lead strategic cost-optimization initiatives and manage the financial viability of Terminal Projects and upgrades and adhere strictly to approved budgetary constraints.
- Support Inventory & Loss Prevention by adhering to accurate stock records and implementing controls to prevent product loss (targeting losses < 0.2%). Manage all asset movement & disposal.
- Maintain oversight of all stock management systems (physical and systematic) to ensure optimal planning and inventory levels while minimizing working capital tied up in excess stock.
- Monitor & Manage vessel operations ensuring turnaround efficiency to comply with charter party terms, directly safeguarding the Terminal's P&L.
- Maintain ultimate governance over Product Quality Assurance, ensuring all specific product grades handled at the Terminal consistently meet contractual specifications. Serve as the senior accountable representative for JIG standards compliance to safeguard the aviation fuel supply chain and maintain critical certifications.
- Lead & enforce the Terminal's strategic Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) policies, ensuring continuous compliance with all National, Vivo Energy, and international regulatory standards (including JIG, ISGOTT - Marine, and DOR requirements).
- Liaise with all major external stakeholders, regulatory & other authorities (Ministries, Urban Authorities, NamRA, Port Authority, Weights and Measures, etc.), Other Oil Companies, Inland Depots and External Emergency Service providers.
- Manage and appraise performance of Terminal service providers for maintenance, projects and other services to achieve set KPI’s.
- Lead, mentor & train Terminal team thus driving a culture of operational excellence for continuous improvement, and accountability.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and accredited university.
- Additional qualifications in Project Management will be advantageous.
- Minimum of four (4) years' engineering experience within an industrial, process, energy, petroleum, or related environment.
- Experience within the downstream petroleum industry will be a distinct advantage.
- Must have a driver's License.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance management, project execution, contractor management, and terminal or plant operations.
- Strong understanding of HSSEQ management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office applications, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound knowledge of maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
