Located in downtown Mesa, Arizona, Mesa Convention Center is the largest event venue in the East Valley. The venue features nearly 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting and exhibit space, 26 breakout rooms, 40,000 square feet of outdoor function space, and an outdoor amphitheater with capacity for up to 5,000 guests. From conferences and trade shows to community gatherings, festivals, and live entertainment, Mesa Convention Center provides a versatile setting for memorable events and experiences.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Part-Time Operations & Conversion Team Member is responsible for supporting the setup, conversion, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces throughout Mesa Convention Center. Reporting directly to the Operations & Conversion Supervisor, this role plays a critical part in ensuring event spaces are prepared safely, efficiently, and according to client specifications. Team members work collaboratively to execute room setups, event changeovers, equipment movement, housekeeping support, and facility readiness activities while delivering a positive experience for guests, clients, and event partners.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, thrive in a team environment, and are interested in event operations within a fast-paced entertainment and convention venue.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Event Setup & Conversions

- Set up and remove tables, chairs, staging, barricades, dance floors, pipe and drape, and other event equipment.
- Assist with room resets and event conversions based on event specifications and floor plans.
- Support event changeovers between meetings, conventions, trade shows, concerts, and special events.
- Ensure event spaces are prepared accurately and on schedule.

Facility Operations Support

- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of event spaces, public areas, and back-of-house locations.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and cleaning as assigned.
- Move equipment, furniture, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Assist with inventory organization and storage of operational equipment.

Event-Day Support

- Respond to event-related requests from supervisors and operations leadership.
- Monitor event spaces during events and assist with operational needs as directed.
- Help identify and report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
- Support emergency procedures and facility safety protocols when necessary.

Team & Safety Responsibilities

- Follow all venue, safety, and operational procedures.
- Operate equipment safely and responsibly after receiving appropriate training.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Event Management, Housekeeping, Security, and other venue departments.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, exhibitors, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations & Conversion Supervisor or venue leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Education & Experience

- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in event operations, conversions, housekeeping, facility maintenance, hospitality, warehouse, or related work environments preferred.
- Previous experience working in a convention center, arena, stadium, hotel, or entertainment venue is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

- This role is based on site in Mesa, AZ
- You may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
