Dept Mgr 3/Health Educator (049478)

The Department Manager 3 is responsible for developing and delivering health education programs and initiatives designed to promote healthy behaviors and improve the overall well-being of individuals and communities. This position is responsible for conducting educational sessions, creating informative materials, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and community partners to address public health issues effectively.

This examination is open only to employees of the County of Wayne who are Government Administrator's Association members, who have:

Educational/ Experience Requirements

- Regular Status; AND
- Bachelor's degree in health education, public health, or a related field; AND
- At least 3 years of experience in health education or a related role, which must include data collection and program evaluation.
- CHES (certified health education specialist) certification is preferred but not required
- Additional equivalent experience or education may be used in lieu of the requirements at the discretion of the Department of Personnel/Human Resources.

PURPOSE

To establish a GAA promotional eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies. Certifications made for the purpose of filling positions which, at the time of certification, are filled by persons having provisional promotions will be governed by the provisions of Section 6 (e) of Rule 8 of the Rules of the Department of Personnel/Human Resources.

GENERAL INFORMATION

How to Apply : Section 5 (b) of Rule 6 of the Rules of the Department of Personnel/Human Resources provides that persons denied permission to compete in an examination may make a written appeal to the Wayne County Civil Service Commission for a final decision within twenty (20) days following the mailing of such notification, stating the basis on which it is felt that their application should be accepted.
