Role Overview
The Production and Safety Supervisor is responsible for leading manufacturing operations while driving environmental, health, and safety performance within the facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations through effective leadership of production personnel, implementation of EHS programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position partners with employees and leadership to improve operational performance, regulatory compliance, product quality, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production operations, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance management to meet business requirements.
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring production metrics, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with established quality standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
- Lead environmental, health, and safety programs, including regulatory compliance, risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Develop employee capabilities through training, coaching, qualification programs, and promotion of a strong safety and accountability culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership, production supervision, or EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety management systems and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading teams, coaching employees, and managing performance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant EHS certification.
- Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma certification, or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
- Experience in specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or process manufacturing environments.
- Experience using data analytics or digital tools to improve operational or EHS performance.
