The Manager, Faculty Affairs acts in an advisory capacity, serving as a consultant to faculty at UHealth/Miller School of Medicine. This role manages Faculty Affairs policies and procedures and provisions in the Faculty Manual. This job works closely with faculty members, Department Chairs, and staff to establish, maintain, and improve and effective support the faculty life-cycle processes.
- Manages and tracks faculty lifecycle transactions, including compensation-related actions, retirements, separations, and other faculty personnel transactions in accordance with University policies, Faculty Manual provisions, and applicable regulations.
- Manages research and educator faculty onboarding and orientation activities for newly appointed faculty, including collaboration with Human Resources, department administrators, and institutional stakeholders to facilitate a timely and successful transition to the University.
- Ensures requested faculty personnel actions are compliant with the Faculty Manual, University policies and procedures, and applicable employment laws and guidelines; provides appropriate guidance to leadership staff.
- Provides support throughout the job offer process and onboarding of new faculty hires, ensuring timely coordination of required documentation, communications, and administrative activities.
- Organizes, submits, and ensures the maintenance of HR information into the enterprise resource planning system. Maintains open lines of communication with Human Resources and ensures transactions are processed timely and accurately.
- Develops, maintains, and monitors onboarding tools, tracking systems, and operational workflows to support faculty recruitment, appointment processing, onboarding, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Serves as a resource for department administrative units regarding timing of employment, requirements, and resources needed for new faculty.
- Manages the Honorific Awards Committee.
- Plans, coordinates, and administers faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, recognition events, and professional development initiatives designed to support faculty success, engagement, advancement, and institutional priorities.
- Provides operational support for electronic document management and records systems, including maintenance of faculty records, document workflow monitoring, and backup support for OnBase-related processes and functions.
- Ensures timely delivery of Faculty Affairs services. Counsels and advises faculty and staff on internal faculty practices, procedures, and overall organizational policies.
- Manages general inquiries about faculty benefits, conditions of employment, and other policies or programs.
- Establishes and maintains open lines of communication, both verbal and written, with client groups to effectively represent department services and provide Faculty Affairs services that meet client needs and facilitate change.
- Completes special projects or assignments as required under the supervision of the Director, which may include participation on committees, calendar and meeting scheduling, and coordination of special events.
- Develops working relationships with University business units and administrators to facilitate faculty affairs operations.
- Conducts routine meetings with respective business units to assist clients in meeting or exceeding their objectives. Recommends new approaches to support continuous improvement.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience:
Three (3) years experience in similar role

• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

• Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of faculty affairs processes, academic administrative systems, electronic document management, and institutional workflow platforms preferred.
