About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to produce high-precision prototype and production parts in an advanced manufacturing environment.
This role requires strong experience with CNC milling, CNC turning, manual machining, programming, GD&T, precision inspection, and prototype machining . The Senior Machinist will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to manufacture complex parts and improve machining processes.
What Youll Do
- Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers .
- Perform manual machining using conventional mills and lathes.
- Machine prototype and production parts from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software .
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T .
- Select tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and CMM equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce setup time and improve efficiency.
- Work with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to solve technical problems.
- Provide guidance to less experienced machinists when needed.
What Were Looking For
- 6+ years of machining experience .
- Strong CNC milling and turning experience.
- Experience with both prototype machining and production manufacturing .
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and material properties.
- Ability to independently set up and troubleshoot complex machining jobs.
Preferred Experience
- Haas CNC machines and controls
- GibbsCAM or similar CAM software
- High-mix, low-volume manufacturing
- Prototype machining
- CMM inspection or programming
- Manual machining
- Machining trade school, apprenticeship, or related technical training
- Strong shop math and trigonometry skills
