*This role is aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions (“Diamond Infra”) company and will be seconded from Dow to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions until January 1, 2027.  At that time, the role will become directly aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Company. *

About this role

Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Outfall Technicia n located in Freeport (TX) .

Responsibilities

- The following is a list of the basic responsibilities of the Outfall Technician.
- Biomonitoring sampling collection.
- Coordinate trace organic sampling/documentation for fish tissue.
- Participate in agency inspections/visits (escort, sampling, documentation, etc.)
- Support Outfalls Operating Discipline (generate, review, update procedures)
- Assistance and coordination of annual flow calibrations.
- Manage Outfalls call duty strategy (off hours support).
- Collect special samples as needed in support of EPA water permit.
- Adjust sampling strategy as needed to ensure permit compliance.
- Interface with Texas Environmental Analytical Lab (TEAL)  (sample system reliability, needs, etc.)
- Respond to Outfall alarms as needed and as appropriate.
- Maintain Outfall buildings (Air Conditioning (A/C) units, lighting, etc.)
- Enter information into Outfall field logbook.
- Portable sampler operation/programming/maintenance.
- Order supplies and equipment to support Outfall station reliability.
- Write Safe Work Permits and special permits as needed.
- Outfall sample systems maintenance (pumps, piping, refrigerators, etc.)
- Hydrolab® instrument calibration and maintenance (documentation)
- Dissolved Oxygen instrument calibration and maintenance.
- Maintain/troubleshoot Outfalls wireless communications system.
- Support Outfalls computer reliability and maintenance (PLC, Panelview, etc.)
- Support fiscal discipline for Outfalls budget.
- Maintain, program, and replace velocity probes.
- Identifying preventative maintenance needs.
- Interface with equipment vendor representatives and repair technicians.

Requirements

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience.
- Work requires 24 hour on call periods- alternating between department employees and may be all days of each week including Holidays- to manage the site US EPA Water Permit for compliance activities.
- Must have a current, valid US driver’s license for driving a company vehicle

- The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

- An associate degree or higher, in lieu of an associate degree, Diamond Infrastructure Solutions will consider those with 3+ years of relevant military experience and a High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
- Wear and use respirators
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Frequent/occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs.
- Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
