Job Title: Contract Analyst Job Description
The Contract Analyst plays a key role in reducing contractual risk and protecting company assets by managing contracts related to rebar and services. This position is responsible for reviewing, negotiating, redlining, and signing contracts up to $1,000,000, with responsibilities designated by region. The Contract Analyst works directly with customers, Sales, and the Legal Department to reach fair and reasonable terms, ensure compliance with insurance and bonding requirements, and support the business in construction-related contracting activities.
Responsibilities
- Review contract terms and conditions for construction-related projects and perform detailed risk analysis from preliminary discussions through final contract negotiations.
- Negotiate contract terms directly with customers to reach fair and reasonable agreements, including redlining and revising language as needed.
- Discuss contract terms and conditions with internal business stakeholders throughout all phases of negotiations and communicate with customers to resolve issues.
- Work directly with the Legal Department as needed to address complex contractual matters and ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Obtain direction and exception approvals from the business on items of concern that cannot be resolved during negotiation.
- Verify credit approval on jobs greater than $100,000 in coordination with internal credit and collections teams.
- Sign contracts up to $1,000,000 within delegated authority and return fully executed agreements to customers.
- Update Salesforce with information related to processed contracts, insurance, bonds, and certificates of insurance to maintain accurate records.
- Order payment and performance bonds and supply bonds as required by contract terms to support project and customer requirements.
- Order insurance certificates in accordance with contractual requirements and ensure they align with project and contractual obligations.
- Review insurance certificates prior to annual renewal for the risk function to confirm ongoing compliance with contractual obligations.
- Review bonds semi-annually to determine completed jobs and update records accordingly.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across sales, credit, risk, and operations, establishing and maintaining strong internal relationships.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and responsiveness while meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Apply strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate contract documentation and timely completion of contracting activities.
- Mentor and support colleagues by sharing contract knowledge, best practices, and insights related to construction contracting, insurance, and bonds.
Essential Skills
- Experience in analysis and review of construction-related contracts, including detailed understanding of contractual terms and conditions and risk minimization or avoidance.
- Three years of contract review experience, including at least two years of contract negotiation experience.
- Experience working within the manufacturing or construction industry and collaborating with Sales teams on contracting activities.
- Proficiency in contract administration and negotiation, with the ability to manage contracts up to $1,000,000.
- Strong skills in in-depth analysis, decision making, written and oral communication, and organization.
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task effectively, and maintain a customer serviceoriented approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, for contract review and documentation.
- Strong Adobe skills for redlining and reviewing contract documents.
- Construction industry experience is required.
- 5+ years of overall relevant experience required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance requirements and the ability to interpret and apply them to contractual obligations.
- Knowledge of bonds, including payment, performance, and supply bonds, and their role in construction contracts.
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM tools to track contracts, insurance, and bonding information.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentoring skills to support team members and share expertise in contract review and negotiation.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple competing priorities.
Work Environment
This role is based at a headquarters office environment and operates within a corporate structure closely aligned with accounts receivable and credit functions, as well as the credit collections group. The Contract Analyst works as part of a small, collaborative team of analysts and a supervisor, interacting frequently with Sales, Legal, risk, and other internal departments. The position involves regular use of Microsoft Office (including Excel), Adobe tools for document redlining and review, and Salesforce for contract tracking and documentation. The work is primarily office-based, focused on detailed contract analysis, negotiation, and documentation in a construction and manufacturing context, with expectations to manage tight deadlines, handle multiple contracts simultaneously, and maintain a professional, business-appropriate appearance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
