We are looking for a Technical Product Owner. This position will be based at our location in Wendell, North Carolina.

The Technical Product Owner will lead the planning and coordination of software development activities for protection and control applications used in electrical power systems.

In this role, you will serve as the primary link between product management, system architects, protection experts, and development teams. You will help define priorities, align technical and business objectives, and ensure the successful delivery of innovative protection solutions running on embedded and real-time platforms.

You will combine product ownership, technical leadership, and team coordination responsibilities while working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering organization.

You’ll make a difference by:

- Owning and managing the development backlog for protection application components, keeping priorities clear, objectives well defined, and work aligned to customer and business needs.
- Translating product requirements, customer needs, and system requirements into actionable development work items that engineering teams can understand and execute.
- Aligning product strategy, software architecture, implementation, and verification activities so technical and business objectives remain connected throughout the development lifecycle.
- Coordinating development activities across software engineers, architects, test engineers, and protection experts, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, development reviews, and release planning.
- Driving technical discussions, supporting trade-off decisions, monitoring development progress, and identifying risks, dependencies, and obstacles early to help teams deliver high-quality solutions predictably.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for technical and functional topics while supporting transparent communication across stakeholders, engineering teams, and international development organizations.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience with the following: software development, systems engineering, product ownership, or technical project coordination.
- Ability to understand and discuss software architecture, embedded systems, and technical implementation concepts.
- Experience working in Agile product development environments and using Agile planning and lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable platforms.
- Understanding of requirements engineering, systems engineering, and product lifecycle

- 5+ years of experience with the following: Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to facilitate technical discussions and make informed trade-off decisions across functionality, quality, schedule, and technical debt.

- Ability to travel internationally for initial training.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with protection and control systems, communication systems, power system automation, or industrial automation.
- Understanding embedded software, real-time systems, and software lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with software architecture and system engineering concepts.
- Experience working with distributed or international engineering teams.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience coordinating complex product releases across multiple engineering teams.

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $175,644 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
