About this role
This position is responsible for:
Provides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

Facilities Cleaning Responsibilities (100%)
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies. Sweeps, vacuums, mops floors; sweeps sidewalks.
- Cleans windows; dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures. Empty trash cans regularly; collects trash from grounds and cleans trash cans. Oversees and directs the work of community service workers.
- Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc.
- Assists in setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs; puts ice in glasses and sets out drinks.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs light grounds keeping responsibilities including watering plants as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices, general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures including proper safety precautions.
- Ability to perform routine cleaning duties, minor repairs, and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds.
- Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial work.
- Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
- Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- No formal education required, And
- six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
