Job Description & Summary
The Opportunity

As a Health Actuary Consultant- Payer/Provider- Senior Associate you will contribute to strategic, analytic, and technical support for payer and provider clients as they respond to a changing healthcare market and work to maintain margin and manage cost pressures. As a Senior Associate you will analyze complex issues, bring order to ambiguous situations, review the work of others for accuracy, and use feedback, reflection, and critical thinking to build client relationships while developing your own personal brand within our Workforce Consulting practice. In this role at PwC, you will support healthcare consulting work in rewards and benefits by using tools, techniques, and sector insights to develop deliverables that help clients shape strategy and respond to evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

- Analyzing payer and provider actuarial needs to support strategy, margin improvement, and cost savings initiatives
- Developing pricing, reserve, and forecasting analyses using actuarial methods, healthcare data, and industry trends
- Building client deliverables that translate technical findings into clear recommendations for leaders across healthcare organizations
- Reviewing analytical work and model outputs for accuracy, consistency, and relevance before client delivery
- Applying actuarial tools, benchmarking studies, and data analytics to interpret market changes and inform solutions
- Supporting project workstreams from issue definition through presentation of results and next-step planning
- Mentoring junior team members by reviewing assigned tasks, sharing technical guidance, and providing feedback
- Collaborating across consulting teams to tailor solutions for healthcare clients facing regulatory, financial, and operational change

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of experience

- Preference for at least one of the following fields of study: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Analytics/Data Science, Business Administration/Management, Computer Science/Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Financial Mathematics/Quantitative Finance, Government/Public Policy, Health Administration/Public Health, Human Resources/Industrial Relations, Law/Legal Studies, Mathematics/Statistics, Organizational Management/Behavior, Risk Management/Insurance, Science, Taxation, Other
- Demonstrating actuarial pricing or reserving knowledge in healthcare settings
- Analyzing payer or provider data for benefit insights
- Applying Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools
- Reviewing deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and business relevance
- Communicating findings clearly to client teams and senior leaders
- Mentoring junior team members through complex project tasks

Job Posting End Date

The salary range for this position is: $77,000 - $202,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
