Chief Financial Officer / Controller – Family Office
Tulsa, Oklahoma

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Financial Officer / Controller will oversee the family offices accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and financial operations across multiple entities, trusts, and investment vehicles.

Serving as a trusted partner to family principals and the CEO, this individual will provide clear financial information, support business and investment decisions, and strengthen processes and internal controls. The CFO / Controller will work closely with staff and outside accounting, tax, legal, and investment advisors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including bill payment, account reconciliations, and oversight of transactions across family entities and personal accounts.

- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to family principals and advisors.

- Manage consolidated reporting across entities, trusts, LLCs, and investment vehicles, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.

- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide clear visibility into the familys overall financial position.

- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning.

- Develop and monitor budgets covering operating expenses, investment activity, and other financial commitments.

- Establish and maintain internal controls over disbursements, financial transactions, and confidential financial information.

- Evaluate accounting systems and processes, recommend improvements, and assess opportunities to use outside service providers.

- Coordinate with external tax advisors on tax planning and compliance, ensuring accurate records and timely completion of required filings.

- Work with legal and financial advisors to support estate planning, wealth transfer, entity structuring, and philanthropic activities.

- Analyze investment and portfolio financial performance in coordination with the CIO and investment advisors.

- Evaluate healthcare-related costs and benefits for family members and/or employees, including plan options and opportunities to manage costs.

- Coordinate external audits or financial reviews, as needed, and oversee financial risk management.

- Lead and develop staff through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.

- Provide financial analysis for major decisions and lead special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

- At least 10 years of accounting and financial leadership experience, ideally within a family office, private wealth, public accounting, or corporate finance environment.

- Strong knowledge of accounting, consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls.

- Experience managing accounting and reporting across multiple entities.

- Working knowledge of tax matters and the ability to coordinate effectively with outside tax specialists.

- Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.

- Ability to lead a small, hands-on team while remaining actively involved in daily financial operations.

- Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to explain financial matters clearly to nonfinancial audiences.
