About this role
The Machine Shipping Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient tear down and preparation of finished agricultural equipment for shipment. This role ensures that machinery is properly disassembled, documented, and secured for delivery to local, national, and international destinations. The Machine Shipping Technician works closely with the Shipping Supervisor, Logistics Team, and Reconfigure Department to ensure each piece of equipment is ready for transit according to specifications and customer needs. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Technicians will be available for flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet shipping demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble completed machines for shipment based on transportation, dimensional, and customer requirements.
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move, stage, and load machinery and components.
- Package and secure loose or removed parts in accordance with shipping and reassembly needs.
- Document all tear-down activity, including photographing machines, labeling components, and maintaining written records for reassembly at the destination.
- Coordinate with the Shipping Supervisor to understand shipment schedules and tear-down priorities.
- Work with Assembly Leads and Technicians to clarify equipment configurations and resolve tear-down or shipping-related issues.
- Maintain and organize shipping tools, hardware kits, and packaging materials.
- Conduct basic inspections of machines and identify potential issues before shipment.
- Assist with loading equipment onto flatbeds, containers, or other freight vehicles to ensure damage-free transit.
- Follow all safety standards and wear appropriate PPE while performing tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist with snow removal, yard organization, and material staging as needed.
- Support other logistics and reconfigure team members during peak periods.

Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience in equipment service, assembly, or shipping preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely disassemble agricultural or industrial machinery.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow tear-down procedures and documentation protocols.
- Basic understanding of shipping methods and load securing techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs, performed safely and as part of normal duties.
Level 1 (Entry-Level/Foundational):
