Civil/Survey CAD Technician (Hybrid)

Job Title: Civil/Survey CAD Technician Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a Civil/Survey CAD Technician to support key civil and pipeline projects, with a focus on developing and updating detailed design drawings and survey-based deliverables. You will work closely with engineers and surveyors to produce accurate technical documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, contributing directly to the planning and execution of long linear transmission pipeline and related civil projects. Responsibilities

- Develop and lay out pipeline routes to ensure they conform to project specifications and client requirements.
- Generate and edit pipeline alignments, profiles, surfaces, cross sections, and pipe networks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Create accurate technical drawings and topographical maps based on survey data and project requirements.
- Update drawings and maps with new data points and information gained from field surveys and site activities.
- Support updates to survey plats for long transmission pipeline greenfield projects and related linear infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and surveyors to ensure construction projects are designed and documented accurately.
- Apply land surveying and topographic survey information to produce precise CAD and drafting outputs.
- Maintain organized CAD files and documentation to support ongoing pipeline and civil design initiatives.
- Assist in drafting and revising construction-related drawings for civil and survey projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards and workflows within the project team.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD for civil, survey, and pipeline drafting applications.
- Ability to generate and modify alignments, profiles, surfaces, cross sections, and pipe networks in a CAD environment.
- Experience with civil drafting and design, particularly for linear projects such as pipelines or similar infrastructure.
- Understanding of topography and topographic surveys and how to translate survey data into CAD drawings.
- Familiarity with land surveying concepts and their application in CAD and drafting work.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating and updating technical drawings and maps.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and surveyors to interpret design requirements and survey data.
- Ideal candidates bring approximately 13 years of relevant experience; candidates with up to 56 years of experience will also be considered.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience using Civil 3D is highly desirable and considered a strong plus.
- Experience supporting long transmission pipeline greenfield projects or other linear infrastructure is an advantage.
- Exposure to survey plat updates and survey tech responsibilities is beneficial.
- Experience in construction-related drafting or civil construction environments is a plus.
- Comfort working on pipeline, civil, or land development projects that rely on survey data.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to project-specific CAD standards and workflows.
- Ability to grow from entry-level responsibilities into more advanced drafting and design tasks over time.

Work Environment The position begins in an office-based setting for the first few months so you can gain a strong understanding of the support requirements, processes, and operational applications used by the team. After you demonstrate confidence and proficiency in these applications and workflows, you may transition to a hybrid work arrangement, reducing in-office days to a few times per week based on performance. You will work with modern CAD tools, primarily AutoCAD and potentially Civil 3D, in a collaborative environment alongside engineers and surveyors. While on contract, you receive six paid holidays, contributing to a supportive and balanced work experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
