Job Summary
Are you ready to help move food efficiently and safely so community partners can serve Oklahomans facing hunger? As a Warehouse Associate, you will select and stage orders, operate forklifts and warehouse equipment, receive shipments and move pallets to designated locations. You will use voice-picking and warehouse management systems to maintain accurate inventory movement while helping keep equipment and work areas organized. This on-site, full-time role requires consistent attention to safety, product accuracy and operational priorities. What success looks like in the first 6–12 months includes meeting the 200 cases-per-hour standard with 99.8% accuracy, completing equipment checks, maintaining accurate pallet scans and helping products move through the warehouse safely and efficiently.
A Day in the Life
Order Selection
- Pull, pick and stage product for agency orders using a voice picking system.
- Meet the required cases-per-hour standard of 200 CPH with an accuracy of 99.8%.
Warehouse Organization and Equipment
- Maintain daily warehouse and equipment organization and cleanliness.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
Forklift Operation
- Operate a forklift and other equipment for moving pallets and navigating tight spaces with products.
- Fulfill all duties and requirements of a Warehouse Receiver or Forklift Operator.
- Receive shipments and provide forklift assistance as needed.
Pallet Put-Away
- Ensure accurate and efficient pallet put-away by placing and scanning appropriate pallet tags.
- Move pallets into the correct racking and designated locations.
- Work in various areas, including the dry warehouse, coolers at 40 degrees and freezer at -15 degrees.
Pallet Drops
- Use the Warehouse Management System to scan locations and pallet tags for accurate and efficient pallet drops.
- Move pallets in racking to appropriate locations for pullers.
Safety
- Perform all tasks in a constant state of alertness and always prioritize safety.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
How you have spent your time:
- Obtaining a high school diploma or GED.
- Working in a warehouse environment for at least one year.
Other Requirements:
- Clearance of background investigation and drug screen.
- Pass physical examination.
Preferred Qualifications
How you have spent your time:
- Obtaining a forklift certification.
Safety Sensitive Designation
This position is classified as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law. Employees in safety sensitive roles perform duties where even a momentary lapse in concentration could result in injury to themselves, others or cause environmental harm. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is not permitted to hire applicants who hold a medical marijuana card for safety sensitive positions, in compliance with state law.
Physical & Environmental Expectations
This role involves sustained physical activity in indoor and outdoor industrial settings. Work may require fine motor coordination, grasping, pushing, pulling and moving objects with more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently and more than 20 pounds constantly. Responsibilities may involve climbing at or above six feet, balancing on even or uneven surfaces and changing positions throughout the workday. Employees must recognize important sounds and safety indicators and use required Personal Protective Equipment. The environment may include extreme temperatures, weather and humidity as well as dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, noise and vibrations. Travel, rotating on-call participation, unscheduled call-outs, extended workdays, overtime, weekend hours or holiday hours may be required.
