What You’ll Do As A Veterinary Receptionist
- Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for clients and their dogs and cats
- Warmly greet clients and manage patient check-in and check-out
- Maintain an organized and efficient lobby flow
- Use AVImark practice management software throughout the day
- Manage appointment and boarding calendars in AVImark
- Create and update electronic medical records
- Process patient reminders and maintain accurate client and patient information
- Generate client estimates and invoices
- Manage multi-line phone calls and electronic client communications
- Gather information and help identify the urgency of patient needs so concerns can be directed appropriately
- Clearly explain invoices and charges to clients
- Process client payments accurately and efficiently
- Assist with daily financial reporting in AVImark
- Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients, including during stressful or emotional situations
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to coordinate appointments and support efficient patient care
What You’ll Bring
- Prior experience utilizing AVImark software is highly preferred
- Comfort navigating AVImark calendars, treatment codes, and digital medical charts
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or high-volume medical front desk setting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
- Sharp attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to clients and their pets
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and helpful during stressful or emotional situations
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support the entire hospital team
- A genuine desire to create an excellent experience for every client who contacts or visits the practice
