Working within the Army Headquarters, G8-Systems and Integration and Land Fires Directorate, the Capability Operator FIC Analyst will work under the direction of, and be responsible to, the Staff Officer Grade Two Air Missile Defence (SO2 AMD-A) for the delivery of capability operator Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) outcomes.

The Capability Operator FIC Analyst will proactively engage primarily with Army stakeholders as well as Defence Groups, Services, Enabling Organisations and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, manage dependencies, and deliver FIC outcomes required to support capability development milestones for LAND 6504 Medium Range Ground Based Air Defence (MRGBAD).

The role will take a leading role coordinating Army’s efforts to support the acquisition of the MR GBAD capability under LAND6504 by defining specific FIC requirements and ensuring that Army’s is able to inform the acquisition business case accurately and comprehensively. The Capability Operator FIC Analyst will lead identification, planning and coordination of Army’s FIC artefacts required to support government consideration and approval of LAND6504 capability submissions.

Helping to represent Army within the Integrated Project Management Team, The Capability Operator FIC Analyst will directly support the development of capability submission documentation for Combined Pass and other key decision points. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Development of FIC Assessment document

• Development of FIC Management & assurance document

• Definition of FIC integration requirements (interim and enduring) and

• FIC transition planning documents

• Executive-level briefs, presentations and decision-support products.

The Capability Sponsor FIC Analyst will work with the capability sponsor and delivery agency to coordinate and maintain the LAND 6504 FIC baseline, ensuring that all applicable FIC requirements are identified, planned, costed, phased and aligned with project schedules and capability realisation objectives. The role will provide informed advice to the SO2 AMD-A on FIC integration, risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies, supporting the development of risk mitigation strategies and inform decision-making. The analyst will contribute to the development and maintenance of the LAND 6504 cost model, ensuring that all in-scope FIC requirements are adequately captured and represented within the approved acquisition costing methodology and tools.

The Capability Sponsor FIC Analyst will undertake analysis of FIC requirements, identify gaps and risks in FIC elements where they exist. They role will liaise with key Army stakeholders such as 16 Regt, 10 BDE, Forces Command and School of Artillery. This role will coordinate activities with FIC leads, from the capability operator and delivery agencies and subject matter experts to ensure capability requirements remain achievable, affordable and supportable and identity capability impacts where these outcomes are not possible.

The Capability Sponsor FIC Analyst will lead the planning, coordination and administration of FIC governance activities internally within Army and externally. This includes preparing governance papers, agendas, records of decision and action tracking for the LAND6504 Capability Working Group and other governance forums as required.

The role will liaise with capability operators, delivery agencies, FIC representatives, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure integrated planning and delivery of capability outcomes. The analyst will support assurance, contestability and review activities, ensuring FIC considerations are accurately represented and aligned with Defence capability development requirements and government expectations.

Mandatory requirements:

- Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2. (NV2 Clearance preferred).

- Must be able to work from Brindabella Business Park 5 days per week, CBR location preferred.

- Relevant experience undertaking role responsibilities.

- Minimum 6 years’ experience, preferably within Defence.

- Experience in complex acquisition projects.
