As a Domestic Violence (DV) Advocate, you will provide direct and supportive assistance to survivors in shelter and outreach settings using a trauma-informed approach. You will respond to immediate needs, provide crisis intervention and advocacy, assist with case management, answer the 24-hour hotline, facilitate psychoeducational groups, and help connect survivors with resources and services. You will also support the day-to-day operations of the program while maintaining accurate client documentation and a safe, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by responding to individual needs and providing trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, and assistance
· Provide case management support and help survivors access resources, transportation, hotel services, and other assistance based on individual needs
· Create and facilitate psychoeducational groups, classes, and house meetings that encourage connection, education, and empowerment
· Answer the 24-hour hotline and provide compassionate crisis support and advocacy to individuals seeking assistance
· Complete client intakes, assessments, consent forms, and other required documentation within established timeframes
· Prepare shelter facilities to welcome new clients and help maintain a safe, supportive environment
· Document client interactions, services, progress toward goals, and hotline calls accurately and consistently
· Maintain organized client files and track monthly outcomes and reports as required for grant purposes
· Collaborate with staff, volunteers, students, and other team members to communicate individual needs, concerns, and relevant updates
· Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of services
· Complete other duties as assigned by leadership

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· High school education and one (1) year of professional experience
OR

· Three (3) years of professional experience

Additional Qualifications:
· Basic knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma
· Ability to remain flexible and adapt effectively to changing needs and situations
· Demonstrated good judgment and discernment when working with others
· Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively
· Must complete internal Domestic Violence training
· Demonstrated ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office applications
· Successful completion of required background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
· Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance

Physical Requirements:
· Perform sedentary work requiring up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
· Perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing and writing throughout the work shift
· Sit for most of the workday with occasional periods of walking or standing
