About the role
Arclin is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their St. Clair, Cleveland OH Plant. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utilities. This position leads maintenance personnel and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and productivity. They will report to the site Plant Engineering Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety meetings and support safety training initiatives.
Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other safety procedures.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Leadership & Supervision
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians and contractors.
Assign daily work activities and prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs.
Monitor employee performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Maintenance Operations
Oversee corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
May be required to perform maintenance tasks.
Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process equipment.
Review work orders and schedule maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
Coordinate planned shutdowns and equipment installations.
Equipment Reliability
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Analyze equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions.
Monitor maintenance metrics such as downtime, equipment reliability, and work order completion rates.
Recommend equipment modifications and improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
Inventory & Budget Management
Manage maintenance inventory, spare parts, and equipment supplies.
Coordinate with purchasing to procure maintenance materials and services.
Control maintenance expenditures while maintaining operational effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in capital projects and equipment upgrade programs.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Partner with production, engineering, quality, and operations teams to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
Education
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
Or 5 years of experience working as an Industrial Mechanic/Electrician.
Equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience will be considered.
Experience
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or related industrial environment.
