Job Title: Senior Project Engineer Job Description The Senior Project Engineer serves as the primary technical coordinator across engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client organizations. This role drives the successful execution of large industrial and energy capital projects from early front-end engineering design (FEED) through startup and turnover. The position focuses on leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring technical integrity, and delivering projects on scope, schedule, and budget while effectively managing risk and stakeholder interfaces. Responsibilities

- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil, and related disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Lead engineering progress reviews and technical meetings, driving decisions, resolving issues, and maintaining alignment among stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and engineering deliverables to support successful EPC project execution.
- Function as the primary technical liaison between stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, clients, and internal project teams.
- Manage engineering interfaces with vendors and contractors, including technical queries, design clarifications, and integration of vendor data into project deliverables.
- Support procurement activities by providing technical input on specifications, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
- Support construction activities through engineering clarification, field support, and resolution of technical issues during installation and construction.
- Support commissioning and startup activities, ensuring systems are designed, installed, and tested in accordance with project requirements.
- Identify project risks related to engineering, design, and execution, and develop mitigation strategies to protect scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Lead technical reviews and design audits across disciplines to verify consistency, constructability, and operability.
- Drive project execution from FEED through detailed design, construction support, commissioning, startup, and turnover.
- Mentor and supervise engineers and technical staff, providing guidance, feedback, and leadership to support professional development.
- Manage and lead engineering teams, including assigning work, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Lead and facilitate technical meetings and progress reviews with internal teams, clients, and third parties.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of large industrial capital projects, particularly in LNG, refining, petrochemical, gas processing, and related sectors.

Essential Skills

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or a closely related discipline.
- 15+ years of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project experience on large industrial or energy projects.
- Proven project execution leadership experience, including leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities within complex capital projects.
- Experience functioning as the technical lead between stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Experience supporting capital projects from FEED through startup and turnover.
- Strong understanding of project scope, schedule, cost, and risk management within an EPC environment.
- Deep familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and integration of vendor deliverables into engineering design.
- Experience providing engineering support to construction, including field clarifications and resolution of technical issues.
- Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities for large industrial or energy facilities.
- Industrial and energy project background in areas such as oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, refining, midstream/processing facilities, and large industrial capital projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical reviews and engineering progress meetings.
- Ability to mentor, supervise, and manage engineering teams and technical staff.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience supporting projects with Total Installed Cost (TIC) exceeding $100 million, ideally in the $100M$1B+ range.
- Previous experience in titles such as Senior Project Engineer, Lead Project Engineer, Area Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, or Project Engineering Manager.
- Owners Engineer or EPC leadership experience managing multiple engineering disciplines and leading technical reviews.
- Experience approving engineering deliverables and ensuring alignment with project and client standards.
- Demonstrated mentoring and leadership experience, including supervising engineers and managing engineering teams.
- Experience leading technical meetings and progress reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Preferred project experience with LNG export terminals, refinery expansion projects, petrochemical facilities, NGL processing plants, hydrogen projects, and carbon capture projects.
- Ability to work effectively on large, complex industrial capital projects with multiple stakeholders and interfaces.

Work Environment This is an onsite role based in an office environment five days per week in the Post Oak area. The position operates within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project setting typical of large EPC and industrial capital projects. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client teams, participating in regular technical meetings and progress reviews. The work environment emphasizes professionalism, safety, and teamwork, with access to modern office tools and engineering collaboration platforms. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $100.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
