Job Title: Civil / Structural Engineer Job Description The Civil and Structural Engineer will lead engineering and design activities for industrial facilities, focusing on foundations, steel structures, equipment supports, pipe racks, substations, control buildings, and site infrastructure for refinery, LNG, petrochemical, and gas processing projects. This role plays a key part in supporting EPC projects from early engineering design (FEED) through construction, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant structural solutions. Responsibilities
- Design structural steel and reinforced concrete systems for industrial facilities, including refineries, LNG, petrochemical, and gas processing plants.
- Develop detailed foundation and equipment support designs that meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation to support project approvals and construction.
- Coordinate closely with geotechnical and site development teams to integrate structural designs with overall site infrastructure.
- Review fabrication drawings, vendor submittals, and shop drawings to verify compliance with design requirements and standards.
- Participate actively in 3D model reviews and multidisciplinary design reviews to identify and resolve design conflicts.
- Provide field engineering support during construction, including responding to site queries and clarifying design intent.
- Resolve technical issues that arise during project execution, collaborating with project teams to implement effective solutions.
- Apply relevant codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, and ASCE in all aspects of structural design and review.
- Support EPC project phases from FEED through detailed engineering and construction, ensuring consistency and quality of structural deliverables.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years of industrial engineering experience, preferably in refinery, LNG, petrochemical, or gas processing facilities.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of AISC, ACI, and ASCE standards in structural design.
- Proven experience supporting EPC projects from FEED through construction.
- Hands-on experience with foundation design and equipment support structures.
- Solid BG in civil and structural engineering for industrial environments.
- Experience working on oil, chemical, refinery, and petrochemical projects.
- Ability to prepare detailed engineering calculations and technical reports.
- Capability to review fabrication drawings and vendor submittals for structural compliance.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with LNG projects and associated structural requirements.
- BG as a Structural Engineer or Civil Engineer in industrial settings.
- Familiarity with CAD tools for reviewing and coordinating structural designs.
- Experience with pipe racks, substations, and control building structures.
- Strong coordination skills for working with geotechnical and site development teams.
- Ability to participate in and contribute to multidisciplinary model and design reviews.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills for resolving technical issues during project execution.
- Interest in professional growth and long-term development within complex industrial projects.
Work Environment This position is primarily office-based, with a standard 40-hour workweek. Work is performed in a professional engineering environment focused on industrial projects such as refineries, LNG, petrochemical, and gas processing facilities. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, use of engineering and CAD software, and periodic interaction with construction sites for field engineering support. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $100.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
