As a Quality Engineer, you will be working within a multi-discipline team providing continual support through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).

Directly working under Lead Quality Engineer along with the Quality Manager, you will support with the adherence to APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan, Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
· Support with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan, Procedures.

· Support maintenance and governance of the ISO 9001:2015 Management systems alongside customer and legislative requirements, ensuring its continuing effectiveness by formal systematic auditing in the relevant value stream.

· Support the monitoring of the organisations Quality, policies and practices being implemented consistently across the relevant value stream and verifying compliance to applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and customer requirements is maintained, including providing a service to the relevant value stream in relation to quality aspects of order enquiries and contracts.

· Working in a multi-functional integrated project team as the quality function supporting a proactive and collaborative project working environment, providing governance in relation to Quality Management whilst supporting project deliveries.

· Support internal meetings, project review meetings, supplier meetings, and customer meetings providing regular quality updates alongside the lead quality engineer, and support on quality function related issues, in person unless off site.

· Supporting continuous improvement projects for current or future contracts, including developing new and innovative solutions to long-standing issue with cross functional teams and external stakeholders.

· Reviewing, creating, and updating of internal, supplier and customer documentation in accordance with internal and customer deliverables i.e., Quality plans, Inspection and test plans, written procedures, deliverable documents, or others.

· Create, maintain, and develop controlled documents i.e., Check sheets, Standard operating procedures, special processes, procedures, technique sheets, inspection sheets, or other.

· Reviewing, auditing, and verifying of internal, supplier and 3rd party documentation i.e., Inspection records, dimensional inspections, First article inspection reports (FAIR), material certification, NDE records, Certificate of conformity, or other.

· Preparing, reviewing, monitoring, reporting on frequent key performance indicators (K.P.I’s) using industry standard tools and creating reports on aspects of Quality performance, Management review elements, Cost of poor quality (COPQ), process governance, i.e., Histogram, Pareto, or other.

Performing duties, reviewing documentation, and checking compliance with recognised national and international standards i.e., BSI, EN, ISO, DIN, DEFSTAN, AQAP, LR Rules for Naval Ships, or other.

Work Experience

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

· Experience in ISO9001:2015 or equivalent Management systems

· Industry Experience or recognised training programme in APQP – automotive or aerospace is acceptable.

· Experience in implementation of APQP in automotive industry is advantageous

· Experience in reading and understanding detailed mechanical drawings, and Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) is essential.

· Experience of high tolerances, complex components, and both metric and imperial measurement systems.

· Interpretation of material certification in line with national and international standards. (BSI, EN, ISO, DIN, ASTM, DEF STAN or similar).

· Ability to read and understand various engineering instructions, control plans, drawings, specifications, and procedures

· Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Requirements

- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

- Recognised training programme or industry experience in APQP.

- Previous experience in a similar role within the Automotive, Marine and Defense industry.

- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, AQAP, Lloyds Rules, Defence Standards, and others)

- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on team, quality and continuous improvement.

- Computer literate with use of Microsoft Office.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
