As Materials and Repair Engineer you will work in the area of gas turbine materials and manufacturing, with emphasis on thermal spray coatings, additive manufacturing, cold spray coatings and non-destructive technologies.

A key requirement is a fundamental understanding of physical metallurgy, mechanical behavior of materials and microstructural characterization and fundamentals & an interest in carrying out research is a key requirement & basic understanding of gas turbine products, adjacent disciplines like various manufacturing process, mechanical & thermal design processes

As Materials and Repair Engineer you will be responsible for:

- Drive material manufacturing or repair qualification process independently with minimum supervision.

- Apply Characterization techniques for analysis of the research in materials technologies for gas turbine new technology development

- Drive & independently execute, Experimental work as well as materials modelling to substantiate or validate the new technology development

- Lead qualification of suppliers for repair and new make parts.

- Prepare technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and design documentation independently

- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and testing teams to support product industrialization

- Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and apply best design practices

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Proven Expertise in characterization for metallurgical processes such as Optical microscope, Image Analysis, Microhardness, Scanning electron microscope, Xray Diffraction, Mechanical testing at room and elevated temperatures

- Agility in research thinking with scientific rigor and depth of metallurgical principles; strengthening mechanisms is preferred.

- Proficient use of Matlab, Origin, Microsoft Excel.

- Knowledge of high-performance materials (superalloys, ceramics, thermal barrier coatings) and related processes; microstructural degradation mechanisms; failure analysis.

- PhD in Materials or mechanical engineering with 4 years experience or M.Tech / B.Tech with 6 -8 years’ experience

- Materials Science and Metallurgical engineering with work experience (desirable)

- Experience of mechanical / material design of turbomachinery or high temperature/high-pressure components is desirable

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams

- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
