About this role

Position: Technical Support Engineer Location: Indianapolis, IN Job Description: We are seeking a technically curious and customer-oriented engineer to support product troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with customers, production personnel, and engineering teams to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. The successful candidate will be comfortable working on the production floor, engaging directly with customers, and driving problems through resolution while supporting product quality and reliability. Responsibilities: Serve as a technical liaison between customers, production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate and resolve product-related issues. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather information, diagnose problems, and communicate resolution plans. Support the investigation of equipment and vehicle system issues, including those involving electrical controls and communication networks. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop, test, and implement solutions that improve product performance and reliability. Document root cause findings, corrective actions, and process improvements in accordance with company standards. Analyze recurring production and field issues to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the development and maintenance of troubleshooting guides, work instructions, and technical documentation. Participate in product builds, testing activities, and customer support efforts to ensure timely issue resolution. Leverage a general understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and communication protocols such as CANbus to support troubleshooting activities. Essential Skills: 3+ years of experience working within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. 3+ years of experience troubleshooting equipment. Basic understanding of engineering ECRs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.47 - $48.08/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
