Purpose:
Worley is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Reading, Pennsylvania office in support of our Power Generation and Power Networks teams. This internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

The successful candidate will assist with electrical engineering activities for power generation facilities, substations, transmission and distribution systems, and related infrastructure. Assignments may include technical calculations, equipment research, drawing updates, data analysis, and preparation of project documentation under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:

- Support electrical engineering and design activities for power generation and power network projects.
- Assist with basic engineering calculations, data collection, technical research, and equipment evaluations.
- Help prepare and update one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, equipment lists, and other project drawings or documents.
- Review vendor information, technical specifications, and project data under the direction of experienced team members.
- Support studies and analyses related to electrical systems, including load flow, short circuit, grounding, lighting, and cable sizing, as assigned.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, project controls professionals, and other disciplines to support coordinated project delivery.
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and project planning discussions.
- Organize project files and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
- Follow Worley procedures and applicable safety, quality, and engineering standards.
- Complete other technical and administrative assignments that support the team and provide meaningful professional development.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

- Completion of foundational coursework in electrical circuits, power systems, electronics, or related subjects.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safety, quality, integrity, and continuous learning.
- Ability to work from the Reading, Pennsylvania office for the duration of the internship.
- Interest in power generation, substations, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, nuclear, grid modernization, or energy infrastructure.
- Exposure to engineering or drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, industry standards, or power system concepts.
- Curiosity, initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to ask questions and learn from others.

Working Conditions
This position is primarily office-based and may include occasional visits to project or client sites. Site visits may require the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with site-specific safety requirements. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Preferred:

- Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, project-team, or technical club experience.
