Teacher – Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program

Help students stay connected to their education while they focus on getting well.

High Focus Centers provides outpatient treatment for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. We are seeking a New Jersey Certified Teacher to support adolescents receiving care in our Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) throughout Southern New Jersey.

This is an opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a meaningful difference beyond the traditional classroom. You’ll provide academic instruction and individualized support to students who may be temporarily away from their home school, helping them stay on track while building confidence, resilience, and motivation.

📍 Program Locations

- Lawrenceville: 15 Princess Rd E, Lawrence Township, NJ

- Cherry Hill: 53 Haddonfield Rd Ste 330, Cherry Hill Township, NJ

- Freehold: 6 Paragon Way #104, Freehold, NJ

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
Starting Salary: $55,000/year, based on skills, experience, and qualifications

What You’ll Do

- Provide academic instruction and support during scheduled PHP programming.

- Coordinate with students’ home schools to obtain assignments, curriculum, and academic materials.

- Adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and different learning styles.

- Support students with IEPs and 504 Plans by implementing appropriate accommodations and modifications.

- Create a structured, encouraging learning environment that complements the therapeutic setting.

- Monitor academic progress, engagement, and behavior and communicate concerns appropriately.

- Help students rebuild academic confidence and maintain motivation during a challenging time.

- Collaborate with clinical staff to support each student’s overall development.

- Communicate with school districts and families regarding academic progress, attendance, and educational needs.

- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, treatment team meetings, and student transition planning as needed.

- Prepare academic summaries and final grade reports when students transition from the program.

What We’re Looking For

- New Jersey State Teacher Certification required.

- Special Education Certification preferred.

- Prior experience in behavioral health, alternative education, special education, or other non-traditional educational settings is a plus.

- A flexible, compassionate educator who can meet students where they are while maintaining structure and high expectations.
