About the Role
Vivint is looking for a Director of Program Management, Software to lead a team of program managers responsible for the end-to-end execution of software across the camera and smart home device portfolio including embedded firmware, on device experiences as well as app features.
This is an execution focused leadership role focused on driving program rigor while ensuring cross team alignment across the business. You’ll work within a hybrid stage gate delivery model, combining Agile / Scrum with traditional stage gate connecting Engineering, QA, Design, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Product Management to deliver software only and hardware dependent software programs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coach a team of program managers, setting clear expectations, career paths, and program management standards across the group
- Own execution health across a portfolio of embedded/on-device and app feature programs, ensuring scope, schedule, dependencies, and risks are actively managed
- Evolve and optimize program management processes that work across a hybrid Agile/stage-gate environment, bridging fast-moving app development with longer-lead hardware and firmware milestones
- Partner closely with Product Management to translate roadmap priorities into structured execution plans
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, QA, Design, Supply Chain and Marketing
- Identify and resolve cross-program risks, resource conflicts, and dependency bottlenecks before they impact delivery
- Provide visibility into program status, risks, and key milestones for engineering and business leadership
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years of experience in software program management, with proven people leadership experience
- Strong track record of coordinating cross functional programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexities into clear status and risk narratives for leadership
- B.S. or M.S. in a Technical Field preferred (Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline); equivalent practical program management experience considered
Job Function:
- Position requires in-office presence in Seattle, WA on a hybrid schedule for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with a work from home day on Friday. The position will start remote and then will move into the hybrid schedule.
The base salary range for this position is: $210,000 - $240,000* *The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.
