Position: Plant Tech - Warehouse/Stores
Team: Ironwood Maintenance
Work Location : Ironwood is a 705 MW combined cycle combustion turbine power generation facility located in Lebanon PA consisting of two advanced technology Siemens 501G combustion turbines and one steam turbine. This facility utilizes a multi-skilled work force to operate and maintain the facility to generate electricity.
Responsibilities:
- Receive /Issue Out Items in SAP
- Stock items
- Inventory planning
Work closely with planners / NRG Buyers to ensure the proper material is on the shelf for weekly work orders and outages
- Monitor Inventory Items and Levels
- Pull items from inventory and properly stage for use when appropriate
- Ship packages in a timely manner, that are properly packaged and in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain clear and accurate logs
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Establish and maintain inventory processes and procedures
- Restrict / Control / Monitor Inventory Access
- Write requisitions for inventory / Consumable items
- Organize and conduct cycle counts
- Pick up items off site as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Professional and effective communications (both written and verbal)
- Complete all required training
- Interface with vendors
- Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 70 pounds
- Must be able to safely operate all types of power and hand tools
- Must be able to safely operate various types of mobile equipment including, but not limited to, tow motor and man lift
- Must be able to work at elevated heights
- Must be able to safely climb ladders of various sizes
- Must be able to safely handle hazardous chemicals
- Must be capable of performing strenuous and repetitive activity
- Must be dependable, self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision
- Must be capable of cross training in all areas of the plant and attend off site training as assigned by maintenance manager
- Must be able to work overtime as needed to support plant operations and maintenance
- Must be able to safely operate various types of mobile equipment including, but not limited to, tow motor and man lift

Physical Demands - Warehouse Worker
Power Generation Plant
The employee must be physically capable of performing warehouse, material-handling, and inventory-support activities in an industrial power generation environment. Physical demands include:
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods, including on concrete floors, gravel, uneven terrain, stairs, and industrial walking surfaces.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, position, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds independently.
- Occasionally handle materials greater than 70 pounds with mechanical lifting assistance or team lifting in accordance with site safety requirements.
- Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and climb while retrieving, storing, inspecting, and issuing materials.
- Frequently use hands and fingers for grasping, handling, labeling, packaging, inventory counting, computer/data-entry activities, and operation of tools and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and below knee level when placing or retrieving materials from shelving, racks, cabinets, pallets, and storage areas.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access elevated storage locations when required.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and other powered or manual material-handling equipment, subject to applicable training and qualification requirements.
- Ability to safely load, unload, stage, secure, and transport equipment, parts, tools, chemicals, and maintenance materials.
- Ability to work around large, awkward, or irregularly shaped components while maintaining proper body positioning and material-handling practices.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, wind, dust, and seasonal weather.
- Ability to work in an industrial power plant environment where exposure to noise, vibration, moving equipment, electrical equipment, rotating machinery, oils, lubricants, chemicals, and other industrial hazards may occur.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods, including safety glasses, hard hat, safety-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and other task-specific PPE.
- Ability to perform work while exposed to moderate to high noise levels, including areas requiring hearing protection.
- Ability to maintain sufficient balance, coordination, depth perception, peripheral vision, and spatial awareness to safely work around vehicles, forklifts, cranes, equipment, shelving, and plant traffic.
- Ability to enter plant operating areas, maintenance shops, warehouses, trailers, storage buildings, and outdoor laydown yards as required.
- Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and outage schedules when required to support plant operations and maintenance activities.
- Ability to respond to urgent material requests, including walking, lifting, staging, and transporting parts and equipment during equipment failures or plant outages.
- Ability to meet all applicable site fitness-for-duty, safety, and occupational requirements associated with working in an operating power generation facility.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial fork truck
Recommended Lifting Standard
For a power plant warehouse position, an independent lifting requirement of up to 50 pounds is recommended. Materials above this threshold should be handled using team lifting or appropriate mechanical assistance. This approach supports safe handling of valves, motors, electrical components, outage materials, consumables, and spare parts.
