The Study at University of Chicago is seeking dedicated Room Attendants to help create a comfortable, clean, and memorable experience for every guest. This role is responsible for maintaining guest rooms to the highest standards of cleanliness, completing stayover and departure services, replenishing guest amenities, and promptly reporting maintenance needs.
Room Attendants play an important role in the guest experience. From preparing a welcoming room for an arriving guest to thoughtfully refreshing a room during a stay, this position requires attention to detail, consistency, and genuine hospitality.

Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms in accordance with Study Hotels' cleanliness, presentation, and service standards.
- Complete departure rooms, stayover service, and other assigned guest room cleaning within established productivity and quality standards.
- Strip and make beds, replace linens and duvet covers, and ensure beds are neatly presented.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, fixtures, walls, and floors using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
- Dust and clean furniture, baseboards, pictures, drawers, window ledges, shelves, and other guest room surfaces.
- Vacuum guest rooms, clean flooring, and empty and replace waste and recycling containers.
- Replenish towels, bathroom amenities, guest supplies, and other room items according to established standards.
- Clean and organize kitchen areas and amenities in guest suites, including operating the dishwasher and replenishing items to established par levels.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including requests for additional towels, amenities, and housekeeping service.
- Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, damaged items, or other room conditions requiring attention to Engineering or Housekeeping leadership.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain the confidentiality and security of room assignments, guest information, keys, and occupied guest rooms.
- Follow proper procedures for entering guest rooms and ensure room doors remain secured when servicing occupied rooms.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, equipment, and assigned work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Guest Services, Engineering, and other hotel departments to support guest requests and room readiness.
- Assist fellow team members and other areas of Housekeeping as needed to support the overall operation of the hotel.
- Follow all company safety, security, sanitation, and lost-and-found procedures.
Fundamentals
- Previous hotel housekeeping or professional cleaning experience preferred.
- A genuine commitment to hospitality, cleanliness, and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistent cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members and respond professionally to guest requests.
- Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to complete assigned rooms efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Typical shifts may be scheduled between approximately 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM based on business needs.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and regularly bend, reach, kneel, push, pull, carry, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks requiring reaching overhead and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as required to perform essential job duties.
