What You'll Do

As US Benefits Director – Retirement Programs , you will lead all aspects of BCG’s US qualified retirement plans, supporting approximately 18,000 participants and overseeing approximately $5 billion in plan assets. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the defined contribution plan for staff and defined benefit plan for Managing Directors and Partners, ensuring both programs are well governed, compliant, operationally effective, and responsive to evolving participant and business needs.

You will set the direction for BCG’s retirement plan design and administration while partnering with senior leaders and teams across the firm . You will lead a team of two retirement professionals and oversee a broad network of external advisors and service providers, bringing deep retirement expertise and sound judgment to complex regulatory, fiduciary, operational, and participant matters.

- Lead retirement plan strategy, design, and major change initiatives, assessing regulatory requirements, market practices, participant needs, and broader business impact.

- Lead key retirement projects and initiatives, including:

- PSRF calculation and model updates and adoption of PSRF plan amendments.

- DIP termination and redesign activities.

- Defined contribution and defined benefit plan design and regulatory changes.

- Updates to MDP retirement communications, including plan and holdback-related language.

- Implementation of regulatory changes and associated plan, process, and participant communication updates.

- Oversee ongoing 401(k) and retirement plan administration, including payroll and administrator integrations, enrollments, elections, demographic and deduction changes, biweekly funding, terminations, plan-to-plan transfers, and resolution of operational issues.

- Manage annual defined contribution, defined benefit, and PSRF calculations end to end, coordinating participant data, calculation models, funding and deposits, quality reviews, and participant communications across Payroll, Partner Services, IT, Accounting, and external administrators.

- Direct retirement plan compliance and regulatory processes, including Form 5500 and Form 8955 filings, PBGC reporting, annual audits and nondiscrimination testing, state retirement plan exemptions, fiduciary insurance requirements, annual funding notices, participant disclosures, and other regulatory obligations.

- Maintain retirement plan documents and governance records, coordinating annual and regulatory amendments and ensuring contracts, historical plan documents, process documentation, key decisions, and other critical records are complete, current, and accessible.

- Manage relationships with ERISA legal counsel, financial advisors, defined contribution and defined benefit plan administrators, actuaries, accountants, and other advisors; lead regular legal and vendor meetings, RFPs, contract negotiations, service reviews, and invoice oversight.

- Lead retirement governance and senior leadership engagement, including quarterly Retirement Benefit Committee meetings and annual plan reviews for the System Chair, CFO, and Retirement Benefit Committee; prepare materials and recommendations to support effective plan decisions.

- Partner across Tax, Accounting, Payroll, IT, Partner Services, HR, and executive leadership on plan governance, fiduciary matters, funding, regulatory developments, and complex retirement issues.

- Design and deliver retirement communications, financial wellness campaigns, webinars, and annual participant outreach, including 401(k) and beneficiary communications; coordinate with financial wellness partners and North America interest groups and clubs.

- Educate Managing Directors and Partners on BCG retirement programs, including MDP Orientation sessions and required plan communications; oversee MDP 415-limited communications and train HR teams and local leaders on BCG retirement plans.

- Resolve complex and escalated participant matters involving employees, Managing Directors and Partners, and former or international participants; meet individually with departing MDPs and oversee qualified domestic relations orders and other sensitive retirement matters.

- Lead and develop two retirement professionals, overseeing participant support and the US Retirement employee inquiry channel while establishing clear processes, controls, documentation, and continuity across retirement operations.

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree required .

- 5–7 years of relevant experience managing US qualified retirement plans required .

- Deep knowledge of defined contribution and defined benefit plans, including 401(k) administration, ERISA requirements, plan governance, and regulatory compliance, strongly preferred.

- Experience leading complex retirement plan operations, including annual calculations, funding, audits, plan amendments, payroll integrations, and participant transactions, strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to manage retirement plan vendors and advisors, including administrators, actuaries, ERISA counsel, financial advisors, and auditors.

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience developing teams, resolving complex plan issues, and advising senior leaders on retirement and fiduciary matters.

Who You'll Work With

You will report to the NAMR Total Rewards Executive Director and lead a team of two retirement professionals. You will collaborate with senior BCG leaders and colleagues across HR, Payroll, and A ccounting, as well as external retirement plan advisors and service providers.

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

We expect total annualized compensation for Boston based employees to be approximately the following:

Base salary between $162,000-$194,000 (USD) ; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level

Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-30%

5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
