Dover Precision Components is hiring a Senior Production Planner for our Bearings Plus brand. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key team member within our repair/ machining organization. We are part of Dover Corporation, known for our marketplace leadership and stability. This location is our South Houston/ Pearland facility.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you will provide production forecasting, coordination, and planning based on customer demand, working collaboratively and cross-functionally. Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the overall Rough Cut Capacity Planning & Capacity Management process. Ensure successful execution of Master Production Schedule. Work with Operations to align labor, material and machinery to customer demand while optimizing assets utilization.
- Review sales order information and schedule manufacture/repair orders in accordance with due dates: execute routers and release them to the floor with necessary prints; prepare schedule to accommodate availability of personnel, equipment and materials; and release materials needed on orders from the stockroom or staging areas.
- Set and maintains ERP settings in Syteline, Safety Stock sizing parameters and ordering policies in line with guidelines and to ensure capacity & material flow is optimized to improve customer metrics while optimizing inventory levels and demand fluctuations throughout the supply chain.
- Provide objective, fact-based analysis on capacity & material supply constraints and overall inventory performance.
- Drive increased inventory turns, reduced cycle times, and improved Customer OTD by developing, implementing, and managing pull-based capacity planning & material replenishment processes, including, but not limited to customer demand integration, Kanban cards, Vendor managed inventory and supplier consignments.
- Interface with various organization groups to determine the product forecast in addition to providing feedback on delivery capabilities during the initial quoting phase.
- Develop and present plan reports and performance, explain variances and methods of improvement.
- Provide information to customer service regarding order status.
- Schedule and plan on quick job cycles while having the capability of absorbing emergency repair work into the production schedule with minimal effects on overall delivery projections.
- Keep abreast of order flow throughout shop and adjust schedules and routings as required to meet delivery schedules. Confer with and advise sales of order delays.
- Quote lead times and run quote estimates for customer orders.
- Work closely with floor personnel on material issues and changing schedules to reduce set-up times.
- Maintain daily labor reporting to include keying in of labor tickets. Review weekly labor hours and communicate with accounting office.
- Reconcile time variations or missing information to include conferring with Production Manager and production personnel.
- Compile, prepare and issue or distribute various reports regarding labor hours, items shipped, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Minimum Associate’s degree required in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related area. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in production scheduling in machine shops and/or manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience in Rough Cut Capacity Planning, Capacity Management, and execution to Master Production Schedule. Direct experience procuring products and components and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to learn the technical nature of Bearings Plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions; impeccable judgment and character.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; be a strong user of Excel for managing production planning.
- Experience planning in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Flexible adjusting to continually changing demands and ability to adjust production plan to meet the demands.
- Ability to work closely with the buyer to ensure product lead times are met.

ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES

- Syteline ERP experience is a plus.
- APICS/MAPICS is a plus.
- Bearing industry experience is a plus.
- Experience in a machining environment (knowledge of mills and CNC Machines) highly desired.
