CNA - Emergency Depart Tech - Part time

Rotating weekends and some holidays
Position Summary
Join our Emergency Department and Float Pool team as an Emergency Department Technician. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care and support services that promote the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of patients. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-centered care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- ##### Provide compassionate patient care and support, including hourly rounding and responding promptly to patient needs.
- ##### Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and triage-related activities.
- ##### Perform clinical procedures within scope, including:
Vital signs
- ##### EKGs and cardiac monitoring
- ##### Foley catheter insertion and removal
- ##### Blood glucose testing
- ##### Saline lock insertion
- ##### Specimen collection and labeling
- ##### Application of splints, ace wraps, ice packs, and crutches
- ##### Assist with emergency and trauma procedures, including CPR support and patient preparation.
- ##### Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- ##### Provide observation and support for patients requiring constant monitoring.
- ##### Prepare treatment areas, stock supplies, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- ##### Assist with clerical and operational duties including supply management, order entry, phone communication, and paging support.
Qualifications
Education
- ##### High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- ##### Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program required.
Experience
- ##### One year of experience on a medical-surgical unit or comparable healthcare setting preferred.
Certifications
- ##### Maryland Nursing Assistant Certification required.
- ##### Current BLS/CPR certification required.
