About this role
This position supports the mission of helping individuals come unto Christ by strengthening the effectiveness of missionary training at the MTC. The Mixed-Methods Analyst Assistant contributes to research and evaluation efforts that inform decision-making and improve the missionary experience.
This is an entry-level position that works closely with Research & Evaluation staff to investigate key questions about training experiences using quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations). The role includes contributing to research design, collecting and analyzing data, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights.
This role provides hands-on experience in applied research and evaluation, with opportunities to contribute to real program improvements.
Required
- Coursework or experience in research methods (minimum 2 years or equivalent)
- Experience with quantitative (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., MAXQDA) data analysis tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Completion of research ethics training (e.g., CITI) prior to hire
Preferred
- Prior experience at the MTC
- Academic background in social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology)
- Experience with applied research or program evaluation
- Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use
- Collaborative work with Research & Evaluation and MTC staff
