Job Title: AR Customer Service Clerk Job Description The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the finance function by accurately processing membership premium payments, maintaining up-to-date accounts receivable records, and providing responsive service to members and customers in a healthcare-related environment. This role focuses on receiving and posting payments, performing daily reconciliations, and resolving account discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data. Responsibilities

- Receive and process in-person payments at the neighborhood center in a timely and professional manner.
- Post payments into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Perform daily balancing of payments and receipts to confirm that system records match actual funds received.
- Handle wire payments and complete related data entry with careful attention to detail and established procedures.
- Reconcile accounts on a regular basis and research discrepancies to identify and correct errors in a thorough and documented manner.
- Pull, review, and compare reports for daily reconciliation to validate payment postings and account balances.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer and member inquiries via email and in-person, providing clear information about payments and account status.
- Maintain strict accuracy when applying payments to the correct accounts, ensuring membership premium payments are allocated appropriately.
- Support the integrity of accounts receivable records by following established accounting and payment processing guidelines.

Essential Skills

- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable processes, including posting payments and reconciling accounts.
- Proficiency in accounting and payment processing, with the ability to perform daily balancing and reconciliation activities.
- Knowledge of payer healthcare membership structures and membership premium payments.
- Ability to handle wires and perform accurate data entry into financial or membership systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when applying payments to the correct accounts.
- Ability to interpret and compare financial and membership reports for reconciliation purposes.
- Effective communication skills for responding to customer and member inquiries by email and in-person.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience working within the healthcare industry or with healthcare membership payment processes.
- Familiarity with accounting or membership systems used to manage accounts receivable.
- Comfort working with financial reports and basic accounting principles.
- Customer service experience in a payment or membership-focused environment.

Work Environment This position is based in a neighborhood center where the Accounts Receivable Clerk interacts directly with members and customers who make in-person payments. The role involves working with accounting and membership systems, handling wires, and reviewing daily reports in an office-style setting. The work schedule typically follows standard business hours, with consistent daily routines around payment processing and reconciliation. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honolulu, HI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
