💻 Role
As our Senior Benefits Analyst for Europe and APAC, you'll help scale benefits and leave programs for Whatnauts across those regions. You'll be a key operator on the Total Rewards team, owning day-to-day benefits administration, supporting complex leave and accommodation cases, partnering closely with Payroll, Legal, People Ops, and People Systems, and helping build processes that can keep up with Whatnot's growth.
This role is a strong fit for someone who can operate independently, move quickly through ambiguity, and stay detail-oriented in work that has a real impact on employees' lives.
- Administer health, pension, risk, wellness, family, and supplemental benefits across Europe and APAC, partnering with brokers, vendors, and internal teams to keep programs accurate, compliant, and running on time.
- Manage benefits enrollments, life event changes, terminations, and employee documentation across multiple countries and entities.
- Support renewals, vendor implementations, plan changes, and employee communications for international benefits programs.
- Manage end-to-end leave administration across Europe and APAC, including parental leave, medical leave, statutory leave, company leave programs, and country-specific leave requirements.
- Coordinate leave pay, top-up pay, deductions, benefits in kind taxation, return-to-work details, and related reconciliations with Payroll, People Ops, Legal, and external partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for sensitive benefits, leave, and accommodation cases, balancing care, speed, accuracy, and local requirements.
- Maintain and troubleshoot benefits and leave systems, reporting, and tracking to monitor utilization, cost trends, escalations, and operational risks.
- Improve benefits and leave processes as Whatnot scales by reducing manual work, clarifying documentation, and making the employee experience faster and easier to navigate.
We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our Dublin or London hubs.
👋 You
People who do well at Whatnot tend to be comfortable figuring things out as they go, biased toward action, and genuinely curious about what they're building. They care more about outcomes than credit and stay close to the product and the people using it.
As our next Senior Benefits Analyst for Europe and APAC , you should have 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, leave administration, or total rewards operations, with meaningful exposure to Europe and/or APAC programs.
You should also have:
- Experience administering international benefits programs, ideally across the UK, Ireland, broader Europe, and APAC.
- Strong working knowledge of country-specific benefits, pension, leave, and accommodation practices, with the judgment to know when to bring in Legal, brokers, or local experts.
- Experience managing complex leave cases with care, discretion, and strong follow-through.
- Experience with Workday benefits, leave, or absence modules.
- Strong payroll reconciliation skills, including deductions, leave pay, vendor files, invoices, and fringe benefits.
- High attention to detail and the ability to spot gaps between policy, systems, payroll, and vendor administration.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, building processes from scratch, and improving them as the business changes.
- Strong employee support instincts. You can explain complex benefits and leave topics clearly, calmly, and quickly.
- Bias toward action. You don’t wait for perfect information when an employee issue, payroll discrepancy, or vendor problem needs to be solved.
- Strong partnership skills across Payroll, Legal, People Ops, Finance, People Systems, vendors, and brokers.
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting benefits in a high-growth technology company.
- Experience with global mobility, expatriate benefits, or cross-border employee support.
