About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading electrical contractor supporting one of the largest hyperscale data center developments in the Midwest. We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join the project team in Port Washington, Wisconsin. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale, fast-paced mission-critical facility supporting advanced cloud computing and AI infrastructure. The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Engineers, and customers to help coordinate electrical construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, and data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing electrical construction projects.
- Support procurement activities, including material tracking, equipment releases, and vendor coordination.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, meeting minutes, and cost tracking documentation.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Assist with estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and project cost control.
- Support commissioning, startup, and turnover activities for electrical systems.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on schedule, procurement, and field progress.
- Help ensure compliance with project safety requirements, quality standards, and electrical codes.
- Assist in resolving field issues, design conflicts, and constructability concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 1-5 years of construction experience preferred.
- Internship or project experience with electrical contractors, general contractors, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or data centers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project management fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Project.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting electrical construction projects valued at $10M+.
- Knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution, substations, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or similar construction software.
- Exposure to commissioning and startup activities.
- Experience working on data centers, semiconductor facilities, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities, or other mission-critical environments.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Port Washington, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
