Join the St. Luke's Magic Valley Mother Baby Unit as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) and play a vital role in ensuring exceptional patient care through strong communication, organization, and administrative support.

In this important role, you will serve as the central point of coordination for the Mother Baby Unit, supporting nurses, providers, patients, and families. Your ability to manage information, coordinate communication, and maintain accurate records will help ensure a seamless experience for patients and an efficient workflow for the care team.

Pay Rate starts at $20.40 an hour

Schedule:

- Day Shift
- Five 8-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

- Serve as the communication hub for the Mother Baby Unit by answering phones and directing calls appropriately.
- Coordinate communication between patients, families, nursing staff, providers, and ancillary departments.
- Process patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and physician orders according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and unit documentation.
- Monitor call lights, patient needs, and unit activity to support timely patient care.
- Schedule appointments, tests, procedures, and transportation as needed.
- Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to promote efficient unit operations.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support a positive patient experience and quality outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Previous clerical or healthcare experience preferred.

Proficiency with computer applications and data entry.
