About this role
Safer Gambling Advisor
Auckland | Hybrid | Full Time | Exciting perks
Why This Matters
At Entain, you’ll join a global sports betting, gaming and entertainment business behind well-known brands such as Ladbrokes and neds in Australia, and TAB, betcha, Trackside and Sport Nation in New Zealand. We’re an ambitious, customer-focused organisation where our talented people move fast, think boldly and create experiences that excite millions of customers.
As a Safer Gambling Advisor, you’ll help customers enjoy betting more safely. Working across the TAB and betcha brands, you’ll contact customers when signs suggest their betting may be causing harm. You’ll listen to their circumstances, explain the support and safer betting options available, and help them make informed decisions. Where appropriate, this may include supporting them to reduce or stop betting, or to exclude themselves from our services.
You’ll also help ensure our harm minimisation processes are delivered accurately and in line with legislation and company policy. Working within a close-knit team, you’ll combine empathy and sound judgement with a strong sense of responsibility and the confidence to work independently.
Your Impact
You’ll help protect customers and support Entain’s harm minimisation commitments by:
- Contacting customers where monitoring indicates potential risk, using an empathetic, reflective listening and non-judgmental approach.
- Helping customers understand safer betting options and exclusion processes.
- Carrying out customer monitoring, reporting, record keeping and exclusion processes accurately and on time.
- Reviewing reports to identify risks, trends, anomalies and opportunities to improve, and escalating concerns.
- Applying relevant legislation, the TAB Harm Minimisation Policy and company requirements.
- Building constructive stakeholder relationships and contributing to safer gambling training and knowledge sharing.
What You’ll Bring
- Customer service experience and confidence communicating with people in sensitive or challenging situations.
- A calm, professional and non-judgemental manner, with empathy, reflective listening skills and the ability to remain objective.
- Strong organisation and follow-through, with the ability to manage tasks independently and keep accurate records.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems, along with sound judgement about when to escalate a concern.
- A genuine interest in supporting people who may be experiencing gambling-related harm, and a willingness to keep learning and reflect on your approach.
Nice to Have
These are a bonus, so if you don’t have them all, we’d still like to hear from you.
- Experience in safer gambling, harm minimisation, counselling, social support or working with people at risk.
- Experience in the wagering, gambling or casino sector, or in a compliance environment.
- A university qualification in psychology, counselling or a related field.
What You’ll Gain
You’ll join a connected, high-energy environment where sport, entertainment, collaboration and momentum are part of the everyday.
- Benefits: Personal days off, wellbeing initiatives and retailer discounts
- Flexibility: Build your skills with in-person training, then enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working.
- Purpose: Help customers understand their options and support safer, more sustainable betting.

- Perks: Free breakfast and snacks, sports on TVs, a pool table and a modern office designed for connection and collaboration
