The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a highly motivated Project Support Officer to join the LAND 4140 Battle Management System (BMS) program, one of the Australian Army's highest-priority capability projects.

LAND 4140 is delivering next-generation command and control capabilities that will transform how the Joint Land Force operates. Through the enhancement of situational awareness, targeting capabilities, and decision-making systems, this critical program will enable Defence personnel to make faster, safer, and better-informed decisions in complex operational environments.

As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the BMS Integration Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager in delivering the integration stream of the program. This role offers broad exposure across project management, governance, stakeholder engagement, reporting, scheduling, and Defence capability delivery.

Responsibilities:

- Support project leadership through the preparation of presentations, reports, briefs, correspondence, and executive submissions.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and tracking activities using MS Project.
- Assist with project governance activities, including board and committee reporting.
- Establish and maintain business processes that support effective project delivery and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, suppliers, and the system integrator to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Monitor project activities and support the management of risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Conduct quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
- Contribute to planning, coordination, and execution activities across the integration workstream.
- Support work package delivery within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality expectations.
- Provide leadership and coordination across small multidisciplinary teams when required.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

- Experience working in complex Defence or Government environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefing materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality outcomes.
- A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to professional development.
- Experience supporting project delivery across schedule, cost, quality, and risk considerations.
- Experience within a CASG, NSSG, GWEO, or other Defence acquisition project environment.
- Previous experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) or project/program delivery team.
- Understanding of project delivery methodologies such as PMBoK, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (formerly Capability Life Cycle).
