This role is for a hands-on SAP Datasphere developer who supports the can build reliable SAP data objects from extraction through curated reporting structures. Strong ODP extractor experience is the key requirement. Microsoft Fabric experience is valuable, but secondary, with emphasis on understanding how Datasphere output supports Fabric Warehouses, Dataflow Gen2, Power Query, SQL, and Power BI reporting.

Role will be responsible for acting as a full lifecycle developer for their supported solutions and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Performs key portions of the System Development Lifecycle below:

- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Solution design and architecture
- Application and interface development
- Unit, integration and user acceptance testing
- Documentation and knowledge transfer
- Deployment, installation, and production support
- Ongoing maintenance enhancements.

- Develops and fosters close working relationships with LOB stakeholders, subject-matter experts, project teams, and other IT team members to translate informal business stakeholder/architect requests and/or written logical design specifications into documented, scalable coding solutions. Documentation may include, but not be limited to, updating work requests, technical documentation, operation support documentation, and application knowledge bases.
- Responds to production application and systems problems and drives or supports the analysis and remediation efforts. Some off hours support as necessary.
- Performs peer design and code reviews while promoting and adhering to enterprise application and analytics standards, development best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes. Assists other team members in the consistent application of these standards as appropriate.
- Designs, develops, and optimizes database objects and queries while applying sound relational database design principles and performance tuning techniques.
- Reports effort and duration to leadership for assigned tasks while working independently without leadership direction when appropriate.
- Effectively manages himself or herself to meet or exceed established performance goals (i.e.; efficiency, effectiveness, utilization, etc.) with potential responsibility for leading projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity.
- Improves personal and professional technical knowledge and expertise including, but not limited to, maintaining current knowledge of IT trends and emerging techno logies to support the definition and adoption of new development approaches and technology.
- Participates in department meetings and departmental projects, as requested.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

Typically requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and software development concepts as well as defining high level application standards, helps others understand those standards and architect solutions to meet the organizational needs.

7+ years of experience of enterprise solution programming, including required experience in SAP Datasphere and preferred experience in SAP BW/BOBJ.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

7+ years of experience of enterprise solution programming, including required experience in SAP Datasphere and preferred experience in SAP BW/BOBJ.

Skills/Knowledge:

SAP Datasphere Developer Skills and Proficiency Summary

Primary Need

Hands-on SAP Datasphere developer experienced in building Datasphere objects using ODP extractors, delta extraction patterns, and related SAP integration tools.

Secondary Need

Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric workspaces, Warehouses, Dataflow Gen2, Power Query, SQL, and Power BI integration.

Primary Technical Skills: SAP Datasphere and ODP Extractors

Expected Proficiency

Create, maintain, and troubleshoot SAP Datasphere objects, including tables, views, data flows, replication flows, and analytical models.

Expert

Use ODP extractors as the primary SAP data ingestion pattern, including full-load and delta-load scenarios.

Understand SAP ECC / S/4HANA source structures, extractor behavior, and SAP-delivered business logic.

Advanced

Design curated Datasphere models for reporting, analytics, reusable dimensions, and governed consumption layers.

Perform data validation, reconciliation, performance troubleshooting, and source-to-target issue resolution.

Work within Microsoft Fabric workspaces, including environment organization, access management, and collaboration.

Use Fabric Warehouses, Dataflow Gen2, Power Query / M, and SQL for data preparation, validation, and reporting support.

Prepare clean, governed data structures for Power BI semantic models and reports.

Proficient

Understand how SAP Datasphere and Microsoft Fabric fit together in a modern analytics architecture.

Working conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

- Working conditions associated with normal office environment.

- Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.
- Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.
