• Ongoing, part-time role – 32 hours a fortnight, rotating roster 7 days a week.

About the team
The Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Patient at Home Care (PAC) service provides specialised oncology care to patients beyond the traditional hospital setting. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across Peter Mac and the broader healthcare system, the service supports patients to receive high-quality, safe and compassionate care in their own homes while remaining connected to their treating team.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oncology Nurse who is passionate about delivering patient-centred care in a community-based setting. As part of a highly skilled team, you will provide care and support to patients throughout their cancer treatment journey, helping them access clinical care in the comfort of their home while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

The role offers a high degree of autonomy, strong multidisciplinary collaboration and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families during a critical time in their care.

A regular day will see you:
• Delivering specialised oncology nursing care to patients in their home environment.
• Collaborating with patients, carers, medical staff and allied health professionals to support coordinated care and positive patient outcomes.
• Providing education, guidance and support to patients and families to help them navigate treatment and manage their care confidently.
• Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, professional development and excellence in nursing practice.

About you
You are a compassionate and adaptable nurse who enjoys working independently while remaining closely connected to a multidisciplinary team. You have excellent communication skills, a patient-focused approach and the ability to build trust and rapport with patients, families and healthcare professionals. You are committed to delivering high-quality care and continuously developing your clinical expertise.

You'll bring with you:
• Registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• A minimum of three years' post-registration nursing experience, including recent acute medical and surgical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in oncology nursing, including advanced clinical skills relevant to the administration and management of cancer therapies.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across healthcare settings.
• Experience providing education and support to patients, families and colleagues.
• A current Victorian Driver's Licence and the ability to travel to provide care within the community.
Highly regarded: Community nursing experience and postgraduate qualifications in Oncology Nursing.

- Registered Nurse Division 1

- 12 months Recent, acute medical and surgical experience clinical skills

- Competency achieved in in the following skills: peripheral cannulation and CVAD management; administration and management of anti-cancer drugs, safe handling of cytotoxic, monoclonal antibodies and hazardous non-cytotoxic drugs and management of cytotoxic and hazardous non-cytotoxic drug spill

- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

- Act as a professional Role Model

- Current Victorian Driver’s License

- Demonstrate ability to provide education to patients, family and staff

Desirable Requirements
