Patient Information Officer
- Part-time, ongoing position available - 32 hours per fortnight.
- Up to $60,780.72 (HS1) - $67,194.40 (HS17) base salary per annum - full-time equivalent pro-rated for part-time.
- Parkville location, with multiple public transport options available.
About the role
As a member of the patient information clerical team you will assist with the maintenance and provision of patient records for patient care, research and education.
This position will contribute to the accurate sorting, checking, filing, compiling and scanning of patient related forms. The position will also include processing requests for patient information, answering telephone calls, record culling, quality audits and other HIS activities as directed. Carry out tasks as part of a team that works co-operatively, sharing roles and responsibilities to meet the needs of the hospital cancer patients.
Remuneration as per Health and Allied services, Managers and Administrative workers EBA. Up to Up to $60,780.72 (HS1) - $67,194.40 (HS17) base salary per annum, (full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) dependent on candidate experience. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.

Adapt and assist the implementation of workflow process changes requested by management
Successfully meet departmental KPIandrsquos

Accept and make appropriate practice changes based on Manager feedback

2. Patient data and medical record maintenance
Apply policies and procedures in all aspects of work
Manage Patient Records in accordance with standards
Perform role in line with confidentiality and privacy requirements
Participate in Quality Activities
Participate in staff education to ensure quality of data entry is maintained and correct procedures are followed
Scanning of patient documentation
Creation of patient records
Enter and maintain accurate data within iPM
3. Provision of effective administrative support
Undertake all duties in line with policies and procedures within the required timeframe to meet KPIs
Perform role in line with confidentiality and privacy requirements
Participate in training and development that is offered during business hours and days
Work cooperatively as part of the team and assist other areas and staff as necessary
Offer opinions and suggestions to improve work areas
Maintain knowledge and skill base required for effective performance and identify learning needs
Support and train new employees when required
Participate fully in the performance appraisal process
Other tasks as directed by your Team Leader or Manager
Work cooperatively within multi-disciplinary teams to improve workflow in consultation with management
