ByteDance Networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software-defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyperscale data-center networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps of the world such as TikTok which serve billions of users around the globe.
ByteDance Networking is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. By joining this team, you will gain marketable network experience in multiple areas on a massive scale. The OTN team is responsible for the hyperscale interconnectivity between ByteDance Data Centers, including design, buildout and operations.

Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure and operate OTN solutions connecting BD data centers and cloud-based resources.
- Automate OTN daily operations and optimize operational processes.
- Participate in OTN on-call operations.
- Design OTN solutions for different applications with varying requirements.
- Participate in the review of dark fiber options for OTN systems, including route and vendor evaluation.
- Travel may be required up to 15%-30% of the time.
Minimum Qualification(s):
- Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, System Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of optical communications, OTN solutions, telecommunication theory.
- Basic understanding of a software language and scripting/automation experience.
Preferred Qualification(s):
- Able to apply knowledge to real-life troubleshooting situations.
- Self-motivated, with good communication and written skills.
- Network knowledge, such as TCP/IP and BGP.
